Permissions Explained

The extension requires the following permissions:

Storage Permission

• Purpose: Save work session data, preferences, and history locally
• Scope: Limited to extension data only
• Data Location: Your device only

Alarms Permission

• Purpose: Keep work timer running accurately in background
• Scope: Internal timer functionality only
• Data Access: No personal data accessed

Notifications Permission

• Purpose: Alert you about work day events (end of day, lunch breaks)
• Scope: Local notifications only
• Data Transmitted: None

Host Permission (localhost:57432)

• Purpose: Optional integration with VS Code extension
• Scope: Only connects to local server on your computer
• Data Transmitted: Project name and active file name (if VS Code extension is installed)
• Optional: The extension works fully without this connection

VS Code Integration (Optional)

When using the optional VS Code integration:

• The extension connects to a local server running on your computer (localhost:57432)
• Only project context (project name, file name, language) is retrieved
• No connection is made to external servers
• This feature is entirely optional and can be disabled
• All data remains on your local machine

Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party services, analytics, or external APIs. The extension operates entirely offline and locally on your device.

Data Retention and Deletion

How Long We Keep Data

Data is retained locally on your device until you:

• Clear browser data
• Uninstall the extension
• Manually delete data through the extension settings

How to Delete Your Data

You can delete all stored data at any time by:

1. Opening the extension
2. Going to Settings (gear icon)
3. Clicking "Clear All Data"

Or by uninstalling the extension from Chrome.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Data security depends on your device and browser security
• We recommend keeping your browser and operating system updated
• Use device encryption and strong passwords for optimal security
• No data transmission means no risk of interception
